Which destruction spell is the best

And the good thing about Wall of Storms is that it does not harm the Dragonborn or followers. Wall of Storms is an expert level skill obtained from our good friend Faralda once you reach Destruction level Similar to the Wall of Storms, this spell is cast on the ground to create a literal wall of frost. This sucker looks scary as heck and it deals 50 points of damage per second. And much like other similar elemental spells, this is best used in combination with another frost spell to boost the total damage dealt with the combo.

Enemies that try to pass through it? Well, I hope they like ice. Wall of Frost can be obtained from Faralda but you can also try your luck digging around in chests and looking for random loot.

Both are so useful and they both help in different scenarios. Even though at the end of the day this elemental spell is very similar; casts a wall of flames that inflicts 50 points of damage per second and eats up your magicka too. This is an awesome frost spell that deals some very heavy damage. The only downside is that Blizzard can deal damage to the caster too, so you have to make sure you move out of the area as soon as possible after throwing out this spell.

Blizzard basically sends a huge ice storm in the area and engulfs everything within its radius. I mean seriously check it out. This will damage all enemy stamina and affects their movement speed. This hellfire of a storm causes points of damage to enemies within radius of the big fiery explosion. Both hands are used to cast this spell and the casting time is actually pretty rough here. However the points of damage across the board, this is no doubt a destruction spell that belongs in your arsenal.

After reaching level Destruction you can pursue the Fire Storm spell. Fire Storm at your service. This incredibly powerful skill creates a continuous stream of lightning strikes that deal 75 points of damage per second to health and half to magicka. Just like Fire Storm, it requires both hands to cast and you can only get it once you complete the Destruction Ritual Spell quest but you have to buy it afterwards. Also while casting you can be interrupted by attacks.

However using a shout then charging the spell can do the trick in most situations. This is probably one of the more difficult spells to use properly in battle. These spells come in all shapes and sizes but not all of them are worth using. One of the most known spells, Icy Spear fires an icy projectile towards the targeted location. It deals decent damage to both Health and Stamina, making it a good spell to use in combat.

It can be fairly difficult to land though, especially on small or fast moving targets. You find this spell as a skill book in chests, or by visiting Faralda at the College of Winterhold.

Absolutely perfect for battle mages or even melee fighters, Flame Cloak surrounds your Dragonborn with a powerful aura which burns nearby enemies for low damage. Combine Ignite with Flame Cloak to melt opponents and boost your destruction level considerably. This spell shoots a projectile bolt of flame at an enemy, setting them on fire for low damage.

The spell lasts a good length of time though, so you can use other spells to amplify damage or simply run away as they burn to death. The reason this makes the list over those two is the fact that it slows enemies it affects, making it ideal for kiting or ambushing. As expected, this spell is also available from Faralda. As hilarious as it is powerful, Whirlind Cloak should be utilised by any destruction mage. Upon cast, it surrounds the Dragonborn with a whirlwind that has a chance of hurling any melee attackers away.

Just like Flame Cloak, this also last 60 seconds. Chain Lightning is an incredible area of effect spell that can take down entire groups of enemies quickly. Upon cost, it shocks the target and then bounces to any nearby enemies.

It also hits the magicka stat, making it a good choice against groups of spell users. Why yes it is, which is precisely why it gets so high on the list. It does low damage but the magicka consumption is also low, so you can keep firing flames at your enemies to boost your destruction skill efficiently. Casting any of them on the ground will produce a wall which, upon an enemy moving through it, deals heavy damage. Now we get to the most awesome stuff, one of which is the Blizzard spell.

After a rather long charge up, the caster summons a huge storm of ice to engulf everything in a large area. Heavy damage is dealt to any who are unlucky enough to be within its radius, movement speed and stamina are also deeply affected.

However, it does deal damage to the caster too, so make sure you bail out of the area as soon as you can. Who would have thought there are nuclear warheads in Skyrim? Enemies in range will take 8 points of fire damage per second and take on extra fire damage. This spell does not injure followers or neutral NPCs like town guards. To get the Flame Cloak spell you can buy the spell tome from Faralda at the College of Winterhold or from a Court Wizard after you have reached at least level 40 in Destruction.

With this spell you will be surrounded in a wall of frost for 60 seconds. Enemies in range will take 8 points of frost damage per second to health and stamina. To get the Frost Cloak spell you can buy the spell tome from Faralda at the College of Winterhold or from a Court Wizard after you have reached at least level 50 in Destruction. This spell can only be obtained if you have the Dragonborn DLC.

For 60 seconds, an enemy in melee range will be flung away from you. Cool huh? Casting this spell will create a spinning ice storm that harms anyone within the radius.

The enemy will deal 40 points of frost damage to health and stamina. The downside of this spell is that it can be harder to hit a moving target. This is a fun and useful spell if, especially if you encounter large groups of low level enemies. Chain Lightening causes 40 points of health damage and half as much to magicka. It will then leap to another target, hence why it is so useful for groups.

Chain Lightening can be purchased from Faralda, Court Wizards and can be found in chest and enemy mages. One of my favourite spells, the Fireball causes 40 points of fire damage in 15 foot radius.

Targets who are hit will also take on additional fire damage. You will have to be careful as followers can be hit by this spell. This spell tome can also randomly be found in Black Falls Barrow. This spell is cast on the ground and creates a wall of storms that inflicts 50 points of shock damage per second.

You can obtain this spell from Faralda at the College of Winterhold when you reach destruction level
